Hi Team,
We are looking to limit our users ability to rotate within the map widget on one of our applications. We have found that some of our users have accidentally rotated the map, and are unable to get back to the default view. In the application there is no need for the rotate function to be used, and so we would like to disable it.
Currently, the only option for disabling the rotate functionality is to un-toggle the enable scroll zooming option. We would still like our users to be able to scroll in and out using the mouse. Is it possible to separate the scroll and rotate capabilities into two toggles so that one can be enabled/ disabled, without the other?
Thanks!
This must have been an oversight on the part of the ExB team. This is a fundamental option that is included in WAB that needs to be in ExB.
Yes indeed, please allow us to disable just rotation.
Toggling off the scroll zoom does not disable the right-click and rotate for me, besides, scroll zoom is a desirable feature for us. I would also like to see a way to disable rotation of the map in either map viewer or XBLD. This configuration is available in some of the Instant Apps.
Please add the ability to toggle on/off and reset rotation. Lots of users especially for 911 do not need the hassle of accidental map rotation while using an experience for emergency response.
Hi All,
WAB uses JS API 3.x, so it cannot rotate. The ability to rotate the map is a new feature of the JS API 4.x. The rotation can be restored using the Compass tool in Experience Builder.
I tried disabling "Enable scroll zooming," but the map still rotates on mobile. Do you need to disable map rotation on both desktop and mobile?
Thanks,
Ke
Hello Ke,
Thanks for the update, I.e. the compass tool is useful to reset the map frame.
Discussing with staff:
It would be nice to toggle off in both desktop and mobile. But we certainly think mobile to be the priority.
We also noticed in an existing agol dashboard the compass tool / widget when enabled did not turn on in the map to aid in resetting the rotation. (We did not test a from scratch dashboard build out yet.)
Thanks,
Phil
Hi @PhilPeterschick,
Thanks for your feedback.
I couldn't reproduce the issue. The compass tool does work. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Ke
