Add option to change selection colour within Table widget

Currently it appears the only way to change the selection colour within Table widget (i.e. the highlighted row colour, when a record is selected in the table), is to use the Primary colour within the Theme colour settings, for the application itself. This isn't great, as this primary colour also drives the colour of various buttons and heads etc the application. And it dosen't seem sensible to have the selection colour of a record to match these (this seems quite separate) . 

For example I would often want headings and buttons to be a bold colour whereas, the selection of a record a much more subtle just shading. Currently seems strange these are controlled by the same colour setting. 

If the selection colour could be added to the table widget settings this would seem much more sensible.

Hello @KatieQuantrell, you can change the table selection color using the Interactive element – Selected settings. The selected fill color is tied to the Primary color setting, so it updates automatically when you modify the primary color — that might be why you missed it out.

Both the row selection color and the selected text color follow the Selected settings, and you can adjust them as needed. Please note that the Selected setting is a theme variable, so any changes will apply globally across Experience Builder wherever it’s referenced. For instance, the selected sheet text in the table also follows the selected color - and I'm afraid it's not possible to modify them seperately at the moment.

Many thanks for getting back to me on this. Could you clarify where to find the above menu settings? When I click on the Theme menu I only seem to be able to change the primary colours used and don't have any additional setting as you've shown above. Or is this on the table settings its self (although again I can't seem to find the same screen).

Hi Katie Quantrell,

When you are in Experience Builder it will be on the left side.  Click on the Theme icon, then click on Customize.  The Color tab within the Customize panel is where you can change your selection color for the table by going to the section called, Interactive Element, and changing the color for, Selected.  Hope this helps!

I am running into this same issue as well and I am working in AGOL. I am not seeing all those advanced theme options. What am I missing here?

Hi @ajohnson, if your app was created prior to October 2025, you'll need to switch to one of the new themes. Please note that switching will reset your existing theme settings, and they won't be carried over to the new theme.
