I have two related ideas, not sure which is easier to implement.
1. Allow option to create data view with random sorting. (Rather than sorting by field(s), sort randomly.)
2. Allow option for user to make a random selection of a record. Possibly this could be a new widget, or a new option within the Filter widget.
Both/either of these would make it easier for users to discover new records they might not otherwise search for. For example, apps for finding landmarks, parks, etc., could feature a random landmark upon loading (or upon user click, for option 2) rather than the same record each time (typically first alphabetically, etc.)
