As ArcGIS continues to evolve, we regularly evaluate features to ensure we provide the most effective, modern tools for our users. As part of this effort, we are announcing the deprecation of the Branch Version Management widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
The Branch Version Management widget, which enables users to manage versions in branch versioned feature services—including switching versions, editing version properties, and performing management tasks such as create, assign, and delete—will be deprecated and retired on the following timeline:

This deprecation reflects a shift toward a more robust and unified experience for managing branch versioned data.
For ArcGIS Enterprise and the Developer Edition, a new widget—the Branch Version Editing widget—provides full functional parity with additional capabilities, offering an improved and more streamlined workflow for version management.
For ArcGIS Online, branch versioning is not supported for hosted feature services, and usage of this widget has been limited. Due to these factors, along with licensing requirements, a replacement will not be provided.

If your workflows depend on branch versioning, transition them to ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1 or Developer Edition 1.21, where this capability is fully supported.

We understand that changes like this require planning, and we are committed to supporting you through this transition. The new Branch Version Editing widget ensures you can continue managing branch versioned data with enhanced functionality and long-term support.
