Hello, everyone

I am curious to know why Survey123 that installed on ArcGIS Enterprise open surveys in ArcGIS Online in the following URL pattern, given that I have installed Survey123 website.

https://survey123.arcgis.com/surveys/8e06596af10846c7a67f189ac219b2f6/overview?portalUrl=https:%2F%2...

I will appreciate of anyone has an idea as the cyber security team is not accepting this deployment.

Thanks

ArcGIS Enterprise by default uses the ArcGIS Survey123 web API. Much like how Portal for ArcGIS can use it, or ArcGIS Online basemap services.

You can install the Survey123 website alongside a deployment of ArcGIS Enterprise. This is required to support a disconnected environment. Installing the Survey123 website requires configuration by a system administrator.

You should only do this if is required as there are no benefits, but there are disadvantages and limitations.

@ChristopherCounsell  Thanks for your reply. I have installed already Survey123 website for this reason I am wondering what the benefit of Survey123 website is if my surveys will be hosted at the end of the day on Esri servers.

The surveys are hosted in enterprise. As is data.

The installation puts the API on your machines.

It sounds like you have not completed the installation and setup, as portal
should direct users to the webserver you are hosting survey123 on. This
will vary between enterprise environments. See here for an example:

Hi @MarGIS

To echo the advice provided by magisian, accessing Survey123 via https://survey123.arcgis.com/?portalUrl=https://exampleportal.esri.com/arcgis is not the same as installing the Survey123 website on a Portal deployment. The latter should only be done for disconnected environments which cannot access arcgis.com.

Accessing via https://survey123.arcgis.com/?portalUrl=https://exampleportal.esri.com/arcgis simply makes use of the ArcGIS Survey123 web API. The data is stored as default as hosted feature services on your data store, not arcgis.com servers.

Hope this helps
