Oracle Database Connections Setup

I'm new to ArcGIS Server.

I have a ArcGIS Desktop map that I've connected to an Oracle database via Database Connections in the Catalog.  The data is contains my customers with Longitude and Latitude fields.  I want to publish that map to our internal ArcGIS Portal Dev and then Prod environment.  The database in the Dev environment is different than the Production environment.

1.  How do I set up database connections in the Server/Portal environment?

2. Can I parameterize the database connection so that the database connection does not have to be edited when publishing to each of the environments?

Hi Russel,

You need to install the Oracle 64-bit client on the ArcGIS server machine. If you have more than 1 ArcGIS Server in a cluster, the client needs to be installed on each of the server machines.

Register an Oracle database with ArcGIS for Server:

ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2)

Once the client is installed on the machine, be sure to restart the ArcGIS Server service. After the re-start you should be able to import the same connection file from the Desktop client and register your Oracle database.

Let me know if you have any issues.
