G'day!

If I display all layers in a MapService everything is good:

MapServer_OK.bmp

If I add just the lines (due to the lines being unable to symbolise correctly as a feature service) the lines look the same as the feature service version

MapServer_NotOK.bmp

How do I add just the line mapservice and have it symbolise correctly?

Thanks

Hi All

Answering my own question ... thanks to local support office.

In short, intended behaviour.

"Yes the behaviour you’ve described is the designed behaviour and is a limitation of how the layer is added to the map when added as individual layers for both Feature and Map Services.

The Map Service itself uses the ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer which is able to maintain the symbology however when adding individual layers it uses the esri:FeatureLayer and so the symbology is limited to basic representation."
