Hello-

I'm attempting to launch a new ArcServer site on AmazonAWS through CloudBuilder and I keep getting the following:

"Unable to connect to Amazon Web Services using the credentials that were entered.

Please check that the credentials entered are correct and that the ArcGIS Server AMIs have been
shared with this account.

AMI 'ami-cd002fa4' does not exist or is not accessible to the AWS account."

I'm confident I have the correct Access Key ID and Secret Access Key...when I go into the EC2 console, my ESRI AMI's that I am interested in using has the following ID which do not match the error screen: ami-a3f5b5ca. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, but I do not have the answer to your question.

This user had a similar problem so you are not alone:

I am also trying to get started with ArcGIS Server on AWS.  Where do you see the ESRI AMI(s)?
Do they appear under "Community AMIs"?  I ask because I had them added to my account a
while back and I thought I saw them but now they are gone.  I watched a video and it said to
search for "esri" under "Community AMIs" but that yields nothing for me.  What do you see?

For your problem, can you comment on what version of Cloud Builder that you are running?
I am just wondering if it is an older version and ESRI has made changes since then.

This morning I used Cloud Builder to create a site in Amazon.  It worked for me.  Here are the details of the AMI that it used:

AMI ID: Esri ArcGIS 10.2.1 for Server with SQL Server Express (Dec 2013) (ami-cd002fa4)

If I search for this AMI under "Community AMIs" it does not find it yet Cloud Builder worked.  I think that I will file an incident with ESRI support on this.

I assume that you previously requested that ESRI add the AMIs to your account?

"If you don't see the AMIs, contact Esri Customer Service and provide them with your Amazon account number so they can share the AMIs with you."

Josh,

Not sure if it's related at all since it wasn't in CB, but the other day I was manually creating a instance using my ESRI authorized ami and I changed one of the drive size values and proceeded through the process. Eventually when I went to start the instance I got a error that the instance creation failed because it couldn't find the instance name.

I scrapped that attempt and restarted the creation process without changing any of the default ami settings and creation worked fine.

I don't remember the CB workflow off the top of my head, but if you had changed any default settings I'd try creating another instance leaving everything as is. It seems like it may be a problem somewhere with AWS.

It's kind of a long shot, but maybe it will help.

ESRI support answered my question with the following response:

1. - In the AWS Console, navigate to EC2 > Launch an Instance
2. - In the Wizard, choose 'My AMIs'
3. - Under 'Ownership', please select 'Shared with me'.
4. - Should be able to see a list of Esri AMI's linked to your account

I missed step 3.  I can now see 6 ESRI AMIs.
