Hello,

I will be implementing a federated server soon and I want to know how to publish services so that I can retain more control on label placements on my maps.  I understand that I can publish maps to portal which provides the limited label placement controls that are already available in the AGOL Mapviewer.

How do I publish maps with more cartographic control over label placements?  I would like to take advantage of various functionality for position controls, fitting strategies, conflict resolution, and label priories.  For example can we still publish a map with a curved label with the option to reduce font size?

Thanks

@LyonMNGIS

Share maps that your authored in ArcGIS Pro as map image layer to your portal.

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/sharing/overview/map-image-layer.htm

Behind the scene it creates a portal item of type "map image layer" that points to "map service" that gets created during the sharing process.

Hope this helps

@TanuHoque

Thank you for your help.  I was told by another rep that we had to configure our services using the map viewer which just did not seem right.
