Hi Team,
We have deployed ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4 in a multi-machine setup, where Portal and Server are hosted on one machine, the Data Store on a second machine, and the Web Adaptor on a third.
Unfortunately, last week the machine hosting Portal and Server crashed. Although we had a machine-level backup, the attempt to restore from the latest backup failed. However, we were eventually able to restore the machine using an older backup.
To avoid such risks and minimize future downtime, we are planning to make our ArcGIS Enterprise environment more resilient—either by setting up a Highly Available (HA) or active-active deployment, or by exploring any other recommended approach to ensure high availability and business continuity.
Could you please share any documentation or step-by-step guidance for configuring a Highly Available ArcGIS Enterprise environment?
Looking forward to your support.
Thanks & Regards,
Kristofer
I would review this information first: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/high-availability-in-arcgis-enterp...
Here is the documentation on HA configuration (change it to your OS / version): https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configure-highly-available-system....
This deployment pattern will require more administration and resources to be successful, especially when it comes to upgrades / patching: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/apply-patches-and-updates-to-highl...
separate everything to its own pair/trio of machines
