Hi all, is there any way do edit the "Document Info" section of a map service's metadata? The following image is a screenshot from the ArcGIS REST Services Directory resource of the map service. As you can see, the file path to the project file appears in the title of the document info section. I couldn't find any way to edit these fields. Any ideas?
Hi Thomas,
Most of this info can be edited from either ArcGIS Server manager:
or from the ArcGIS Server admin directory:
I believe the 'Author' field was originally set in ArcMap - not found a way to set that via ArcGIS Pro yet.
If this has helped you please mark it as solved to help others find it 🙂
Cheers,
Aled
Thanks, Aled. I already checked the fields in ArcGIS Server Manager and in the ArcGIS Server Admin Directory, but not all of it (eg title) is in sync with the data in the ArcGIS REST Services Directory. I also checked the corresponding metadata fields in the ArcGIS Pro project, database, map, layer and feature class items.
Hi Thomas,
The server admin directory 'title' you see is the title of the Item (see table heading, Item Information).
The REST services directory title you see is the title of the document used to publish the service. Very similarly named indeed.
I've had a look around ArcGIS Pro and found that this information can be edited from Home -> Info -> Edit metadata
Hope this helps!
Aled
Thanks again for the info! I checked the project metadata as you suggested and the title of the document is correct. What I've found out is that the problem only occurs when I publish the layer from the context menu (see first screenshot).
But when I publish the map instead of the layer (second screenshot) the title is correct.
Also, the author information still isn't displayed.
