Hello everyone,

I would like to incorporate point barriers into route calculations in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5.
As in ArcGIS Pro, the barriers should not be permanently integrated into the network dataset, since traffic conditions change frequently.
My goal is to import the barriers dynamically without having to recalculate or republish the network dataset every time.

Does anyone have experience or an idea on how this can be implemented in Enterprise?
Ideally, I’m looking for a solution where the barriers (e.g., from incident data) can be loaded into the routing layer at runtime.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Best regards

Nico

Hi @Nico9,

Have you tried having the point barriers as a separate layer on an Enterprise Geodatabase when building the Network Dataset?

Hallo @GlenterpriseUK ,

I can't find a way to integrate a separate layer into the Network Dataset and then have to recalculate the Network Dataset. In ArcGIS Pro, I can integrate barriers into the routing layer. This way, the barriers aren’t part of the Network Dataset, but they’re taken into account during routing. I need a similar workflow in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5. I can’t constantly recalculate the Network Dataset for the AGE Portal, because it would have to be republished every time. I need a way (as in ArcGIS Pro) to take the barriers into account during route calculation.

The attached image shows the described feature in ArcGIS Pro.

Best regards

Nico
