I am wondering if it is workable to use an Amazon RDS server to run ArcGIS SDE from.  I have tried creating a database but I keep getting errors either saying that the username doesn??t have permissions to perform the task or that SDE Schema and User cannot be created.

If anyone has ever tried this or can give me some feedback please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tim,

It is not possible to run Geodatabase on Amazon RDS server. However you can run Geodatabase on Amazon EC2.

That is what i thought.  We are already running on the EC2 AMIs.  We just wanted to try and run on the managed database structure.

Thanks for the input.
