custom elevation service

I am looking for any help how to create an elevation services such as profile using my own DEM and ArcGIS for Server like this  ESRI service

http://elevation.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/Tools/Elevation/GPServer/Profile/submitJob

Unfortunately I can't use it being locked to internal system.

I guess I would need to create a geoprocessing tool and publish it but I can't find anything on the Internet

Check out the Elevation Server Object Extension | Applications Prototype Lab.

I worked on a project a few years ago that implemented this to provide elevation profiles using a custom DEM.
