Hi There, We are in process of changing password that is used for map service in our enterprise. All of our services were using database User1 before, we created a new database user (User2) , registered the new user to GIS Server and have republished the map services. These are few service that would still be using old user (user1) so we cant delete the old database registration.
My question is about behavior of GIS Server, when checking if data exists, would it check the original User1 or new User2 for existence of data in database. If there is an issue with Password for User 1, it will break the services. The point of creating User2 was to remove dependency on User1 completely.
I wanted to get some feedback from other community members on best way to change password without disrupting service availability.
Thanks for your time.
from the data prep side
did you update the source connection too?
I haven't updated source connection
understand this is an old post that I just happened to stumble upon...
just in case folks come here in future, I'm adding the following two resources to help:
Also, I'd to make it clear the above resources are only for the workflow when passwords are updated for existing account. That would not help when a new account is used.
hi @TanuHoque
did esri ever provide an option to find out / update the username and password of a shared secure map service? say a REST URL to AGOL from on promise ArcGIS Server
