arcgis server & model builder

Hi alI,

I think I have a fairly standard and straight forward issue, but it's something I have not dealt with previously. Using model builder, I'm looking to upload or append shapefiles (whichever would be correct I assume) to a GIS MapServer. The server is run off of an internet connection and I need this in order for others to upload data remotely. Thanks for taking a look!

So....  What is it you want to do?  Upload or append?  And, are you really using shapefiles or are you  using geodatabase features?

I use the append tool in several models.  There are two different 'copy' tools you can put in a model: copy and copy features.  Whatever you create,  it will need to either reside locally on the users machines or they will need access to the model on a shared drive.

You also need to consider how to administer the services that use the data you will be uploading or appending.
