ArcGIS Server Manager in 2025

Hello!

I recently switch organizations and I am shifting from analyst/developer into more of an admin role. My organization switched from just ArcGIS Server to Enterprise in 2023, however there is very little in terms of documentation.

Is Server Manager still relevant in 2025? It feels like it should be replaced by the Enterprise Portal and I would like to manage the published data via Portal.

What steps would I need to take to migrate from Server Manager? Any recommended resources?

Thanks!

Here is a good starting place: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/11.5/administer/windows/about-using-your-server-with-portal-... (you can update for your version).

Here is also a quick start guide: https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/5cacfe1461a32c31b715f724/arcgis-enterprise-quick-start-guide/

Hope this helps you on your journey......

Thanks George! I think the specific part that I am having trouble with is managing Hosted Services via Server Manager.

My organization has two Map Services and one Feature Service for an important integrated third-party application. However, I do not see the Feature Service listed here. I also do not see any Service Item IDs to identify within the portal but it is connected via Enterprise Portal Data Store item.

Also, the Map Service points to a project file in my data store.  \\SERVERNAME\data\Publish\Data.aprx However I am not sure how they are connected.

Any recommendations for tutorials/articles/blogs regarding this?
