Unable to save your template changes

I have created a Portal web map for editing a feature layer from our database. I have configured the Form for editing and that works well. When I go to configure the Template for that same layer, it seems like it works fine until I go to save my changes. That's when I get this error message:

Unable to save your template changes
Check the layer settings and confirm that you have the privileges required to make changes.

A similar issue is occurring in ArcGIS Online:

I am an Administrator for our Portal. I am also the owner of this layer and map. I don't understand why I don't have the privileges to update the Template. Any ideas?

Ever figure out what was going on?  I'm coming across the same issue.

@ZandBakhtiari1  nothing so far. I'm still getting that same error message. The only way I have been able to get around it is to go back into ArcGIS Pro in the Create Features pane and Manage Templates for each item in that layer. Once done, I then republished the layer and Overwrite Web Layer. This was my workaround.

I still think something is wrong with altering Templates within the web map or even in Field Maps Designer.

Yup that's how I worked around it too!  I also noticed that there are some things that work in the Editing Forms within the map or an app but not in field maps.

@ZandBakhtiari1 What types of things have you run into that don't work in Field Maps? We're new to using Field Maps so I'm still getting use to it. We've always used Web App Builder applications but now that's going away. At the UC this summer I saw ESRI had made a lot of improvements to Field Maps so when we migrated out of 10.8.1 to 11.3 (now 11.5) I decided to switch some of my applications over to that instead of Experience Builder.

Well I thought I was having and issue where the calculated fields I had made in Forms worked in the Map\App but not in Field Map but I think It had just been a long week of going down rabbit holes.  We just upgraded to 11.5 from 10.9.1 and I'm shocked at how many apps still haven't been migrated into experience builder.
