Trying to symbolize multiple points in the same location

I have created a point shapefile of all of the casualties in the Vietnam conflict geocoded by home of record city.  In many cases multiple names are represented by the same location.  (Basically the points are on top of each other).  I would like to be able to demonstrate that their are more points in that area so that it can be layered on top of other demographic data such as household income or rural vs. urban areas.

I am looking for ideas as to which processes could accomplish this.

You can Dissolve on the city name or whatever value identifies where the points are located in and then use the Statistics section to get the Count of the field you're dissolving on.

That worked.  I added an additional field and gave every feature a value of 1 in that field.  Then when I dissolved based on the city I used SUM to add those values together.

Thanks for the help.
