Time slider in 2D - is there any way to increase the resolution or size?

I have a dataset with a one-day accuracy. The slider options can set the slider interval, which works well, up to the week setting (screenshot #1). On the daily setting (scr. #2), it loses the segments, and using the slider becomes a huge hassle.

You can move the two endpoints to overlap, but you can't group them like in Pro, so when you drag, they move apart again, creating a time span of multiple days. What somewhat works is overlapping them and then clicking the "next" button over and over, but that is hardly a good user experience.
