I too would like to know the answer to that question. I have just upgraded to v. 10 and can't seem to find a way to generate a street index guide from my data driven pages.
I have found a work around by following most of the steps provided in the blog below. Basically I did a spatial join on my grid against my streets and then dissolved the resultant shapefile. Once 'dissolved' I exported the table to an excel file and added some headings.
