Stop Creating Tiles button disappears?

When I initially prompt a service to create tiles, I am immediately presented with the option to "Stop Creating Tiles".
If I leave this page and come back later, the option is missing.
From what I can see in my network traffic, this is just submitting a cancel request to the existing job in System/CachingControllers/GPServer/Manage Map Cache Tiles/jobs/<job-id>/cancel. Through Server Manager, I can go in and manually cancel these jobs, but is there a reason the button disappears?
