Export to KML via Analysis widghet

I'm encountering an instability issue with what I believe is the Spatial Analysis service in ArcGIS Portal for ArcGIS. Specifically, we're using the Analysis widget > Extract Data tool to export hosted feature layers to KML/KMZ format. The process works successfully 2-4 times (even with extended pauses between runs), but then consistently fails with a "process ended unsuccessfully" error. Restarting the Portal (via reboot of the hosting virtual machine) temporarily resolves it, allowing another 4-5 successful runs before the failures resume.
Additionally, the server logs show the following error details:
Error executing tool.
ExtractData Job ID: j50e445e3a31044aaa96049f8aadd28df : {"messageCode": "AO_100026", "message": "ExtractData failed."} Failed to execute (ExtractData). System/SpatialAnalysisTools.GPServer

I've researched this and suspect it may be related to a known system bug in Portal: BUG-000162558 (Unable to use fields with reserved field names for standard analysis tools). However, it could also tie into similar issues like BUG-000167347, where the Extract Data tool fails with AO_100026 on view layers (workaround: use parent layer instead).

Has anyone else experienced this intermittent behavior with the Extract Data tool? Any suggested workarounds, such as service restarts, configuration tweaks, or patches? I'd appreciate any insights or pointers to relevant documentation.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @PaulJohns ,

I'm happy to troubleshoot here, but will have a few questions - so it might be faster to go through support.

Can you help me out with a few details?

- What version of Enterprise are you using?

- Do you only see this failure with certain datasets? Are the Extract tool runs that pass using the same input datasets and parameters that fail?

- You mentioned two bugs - do your datasets meet those criteria?

- Have you turned on debug logs and checked the traceback messages? If so, can you share them here?

- Are you running the tools through Experience Builder, Map Viewer, or something else?

We haven't seen this during testing, but if you're able to confirm your workflow I can try and reproduce it exactly. Currently, I'd assume you're running the extract tool with the same parameters and outputting it to KML. Let me know if there are additional details and I can try those.

Thank you,
