I would like to know a if it is possible to delete attachments from a web map.

We have an application for taking photos are are site facilities.

One of the groups only wants to keep the photos in the dashboard that are the  most recent.

In the past when  an attachment needs to be deleted I have been doing it one at a time in Pro.

So, without handing out a license to Pro I would like to find a method for users, with an editor license in Portal, to delete attachments on their own.

The current path I am going down is to create a Surve123 that will mark the attachments taken in the same instance that they can mark for removal.

That would then be a status that can be used in the dashboard to filter out those attachments.

I would then go into Pro quarterly and archive those attachments and delete them from the database

Rigging up a Web Tool/Geoprocessing Service with the Remove Attachments tool should work. I'd use it in a script tool that constructs the match table from scratch for each run, then feeds the results into the main GP tool. You mentioned the workflow is to just wipe all but the most recent attachment which makes things much easier: make the input a polygon feature set, use the feature set to select the appropriate features in the features table, then use that with the attachments table to accomplish your goal. To the user all they do is draw a polygon and run the tool, very simple and easy to explain.
