Over the past few years we have created many maps and layouts including the artwork used for our printed County Map. It is time to create a new printed map using ArcMap - ArcView 9.3 or 10.
Before we put hours into symbology and annotation, is there a recommended reference scale? Our county is 24 miles x 24 miles. Should the reference scale be a percentage of our actual area such as 1/10 of the full extent?
When we are done I would like to have a project we can use for most mapping requests. I understand we may not be able to use the project for all requests.
Also, is there anything we should consider when setting up our annotation group targets?
