I'm trying to convert labels to annotation. However, the "Convert" button in the dialogue is greyed out. The database name etc is not listed as it would be usually (see screenshot).
I accessed the dialogue in the usual way - right click on the feature class and select convert labels to annotation. I am able to convert labels to annotation for other feature classes in the same database, but not this one. I've tried saving the mxd with a new name, renaming the layer, copying and renaming the feature class, starting and stopping editing etc. "Convert" is greyed out for both storing the annotations in a database and in a map.
I found the problem - feature class properties - label tab, a scale range had been set. Changing this to be the default (same as the feature layer) resolved the problem.
