change orientation of features from North to East

I have created a map for a community in Nepal depicting their village, but whenever they look at it they always flip the map to orient the village from east-west (uphill and downhill) rather than north-south, which I think is the default for ARCMap. I want to correct the orientation so that they do not need to flip the map, however I am unclear on how to do this. I am working with ARCGIS 9.2 student edition. Help.
