Cannot create ArcGIS Enterprise Portal Site

Hi,

I am trying to set up Portal for ArcGIS as part of the base deployment.

I am using ArcGIS Portal 10.7.1 and Ubuntu 18.04

I am stuck at this screen. The spinner has been spinning for over an hour

1. How long should it take to create ArcGIS portal site?

2. Is there a log file that I can use to track progress? I see a log file in ~/arcgis/portal/usr/arcgisportal/logs/example.com/portal but it is empty.

3. I have a log file ~/arcgis/portal/usr/arcgisportal/logs/database/pgsql.log that contains the following:

2020-06-04 20:51:51.140 UTC [26441] FATAL: no PostgreSQL user name specified in startup packet

2020-06-04 20:51:51.153 UTC [26444] FATAL: no PostgreSQL user name specified in startup packet

2020-06-04 20:51:51.154 UTC [26445] FATAL: no PostgreSQL user name specified in startup packet

   Is there postgres setup that I need to perform?

I tried the steps in I cannot create a Portal admin account with ArcGIS Enterprise but it did not work.

Did you find a solution for this problem? I am trying to upgrade our Portal and ran into this error when importing the license file.

Hi Ellen,

I was unable to solve this problem.

What worked for me was switching over to Windows server and using the ArcGIS Enterprise Builder.
