Update Experience Builder in the Enterprise Portal via Patching

Many clients that I consult with have continued to use Web App Builder and legacy apps, even at ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 because - as they say - simple widgets/functions were not available in the released Experience Builder embedded inside 11.1.

Other clients have adopted the use of the Developer Edition of Experience Builder, which has benefits but requires workarounds for admins and additional authentication steps for users.

At the 2024 Dev Summit it was suggested the Living Atlas content would be 'refreshable' from within the Enterprise Portal, and this was well received.  That comment made me think that it would be ideal if the Web Map and Experience Builder components could also be updated periodically via patching or similar activity.

It's probably not appropriate for the Short-Term Support Releases, but for the Long Term releases an update of the embedded Experience Builder would be greatly appreciated, and if possible then the Map Viewer as well.  I understand that EXB is released quarterly in ArcGIS Online, but even a biannual update would make a significant difference to many admins and users.

This would make life so much easier and reduce the reliance on the developer edition just to get the latest functionality.

And with this, add FieldMaps and Dashboards too!

I agree with this! We have run in to a lot of show stopping bugs with EXB that are fixed in AGOL, but we have to wait years it seems for them to be fixed in Enterprise. It is a great source of frustration.

Adding Kudos to this - great idea @Scott_Tansley.

It would be fantastic if there was a separate installation of ArcGIS Experience Builder that could be deployed and made available in ArcGIS Enterprise. There will obviously need to be considerations made before an upgrade is run, including checking compatibility with Map Viewer version and JS API, which are reasonable.

ArcGIS Insights is a great example of an app that can be installed separately and upgraded independently of Portal for ArcGIS.

+1 to this idea, we run into this issue when working on the latest features which could easily benefit from the functionalities being launched in the latest ArcGIS experience builder.
