Sites: Open content via thumbnail in the Gallery

On our ArcGIS Enterprise sites configuration, we have a gallery with different web apps displayed. Users of the site expect that they can click on the thumbnail of the app for it to open (because that is also how the portal home-page works), but they need to click on the button at the bottom to open the content.

It would be more user-friendly if we can configure the site to open items in the Gallery by clicking on the thumbnail of the item.

We're happy to report that this functionality will be available in the 10.9 ArcGIS Enterprise release, due early May. Included in a set of styling improvements for the gallery card, apps as well as other content will be accessible by clicking anywhere on the card.
