Bug: not possible to close Error window

Bug: From email address label does not support some characters. Please specify allowed characters.

SimonSchtte_ct_1-1761830736244.png

Error Messages caused by this window will be shown in the greyed out background. If there are multiple issues, they will stack, error and success messages will be mixed.
How to reproduce: fill out the fields and set a From email address label with unsupported characters

Hello @SimonSchütte_ct , for your first question yes, the error messages from Configure Email Settings do all seem to act rather strangely. You can workaround the problem by pressing the Esc key, then you can close the message as you would expect. Let me investigate getting this logged as a Bug.

For your second question, what characters have you found that are unsupported ?

ChrisUnderwood

@SimonSchütte_ct  the problem you have described with closing the error message is now logged as a defect, ref BUG-000180689. Meanwhile please use the Esc key to workaround the problem.

If you are able to give an example of characters that are not supported by the email address label, I can investigate that too. All the keyboard characters I tried seemed to work OK for me.

@ChrisUnderwood Thank you!

Field length is validated after input (good):

Would be nice to have limits directly listed under the input fields

@SimonSchütte_ct  the problem seems to be limited to when the From Email Address Label begins with < and ends with >, so that it looks like a Tag, eg A<important>Z & >important< are OK but <important> is not. Ref BUG-000180696.

And the 30-character limit should be described in the documentation at step 2g here.
