Ref. to an existing enhancement for ArcGIS Online, I would like to raise the awareness for adding the same functionality in ArcGIS Portal as well:
ENH-000171329 Request to add the functionality to snap z-values in ArcGIS Online's Map Viewer and Web Editor
And another related enhancement: ENH-000147868: Add the ability to snap z values along with xy data in ArcGIS Field Maps
Here comes our justification, similar to the functionality requested in ArcGIS Online:
As a user, we would like to be able to snap z-values along with xy data in Map Viewer, ArcGIS Web Editor and Field Maps.
-Usere create points in the field and then the line snaps to connect the dots
-Editing on web solutions are not capturing Z values (defaults to 0)
-This is different to the behavior in ArcGIS Pro, where a line snapped to a point DOES indeed capture z-values
-When manually snapping in MV, it snaps to xy but not to z
This functionality is only available in ArcGIS Pro and is thus not supporting our web editing workflows. Users are going to primarily use Portal and Field Maps for editing our Utility Network and thus corrupting our data by not considering z-values.
This is according to documentation: "Z-values are not currently considered when snapping features." and we would like to have this capabilities in our online workflows as well.
