We were in the unforunate situation of having to run an admin reset twice now during the last two months and are very thankful for the detailed step by step description. But we ran into a very special behavior: we take a back up of the config file, the admin reset delets all the config files in the folder, we import config file again in GE Manager and it somehow adds what we had set up before PLUS old services 😐 So even though we deleted some services many months ago, they are all over a sudden showing up in our list. We were busy comparing the different config files and those services are there in the file, after an admin reset. The backup file does not contain those services. After the first admin reset two months ago, we went ahead and deleted the redundant services again via Manager. And then it happened again during the second admin reset some weeks later. Since we observered this behavior not only once but now twice, we are wondering, where the admin reset process is fetching this information from? We are simply dumbfounded and surprised too 🙂 Maybe someone has an explanation for us? Many thanks in advance, Barbara

It would be great to set a property on a field in a feature class/table as "sensitive", i.e. the field contains sensitive information. We have good overview over which fields in each feature class/table contain sensitive information and have routines in place on database/Desktop level. As soon as it comes to published services, it is easy to loose track. Often, a feature class is part of a number of published services and one has to remember to turn off the field in the properties before publishing. We have of course forgotten to turn off certain fields and shared the item with more people in Portal and ArcGIS Online as necessary, leading to data leakage. It would be much easier to get a warning when publishing the service, informing the user that fields marked as sensitive are visible in the service. Also, post publishing, we could run script, that spits out if the property of a field within a service that is "sensitive". The property would show up in the REST page of the item, see attachment.

We have ArcMap installed on a VPN machine and while my colleagues are not experiencing the same problem, this suddenly happened while opening a .mxd document: Opening ArcMap as a program does not work either, it fails at "Loading document". Opening ArcMap via ArcCatalog fails as well. I tried the following: Renaming normal.mxt didn't work, neither did deleting the file Deleting the ArcMap folder via regedit had no effect either Now when I run the command as described here, ArcMap opens! So I am logged in as administrator to the machine and right clicking ArcMap in the start menu and run as admin does the trick. Does anybody else have the same issue? Any more tips on how to make ArcMap understand that I AM the administrator already and don't need extra priviledges to open the program?

We have a case with Esri support on this now and have a first workaround. As Ken Buja correctly stated, it is also a transformation issue. Our data is in projected coordinate systems (ED50, UTM zones), and as default in our Pro project do we have the topographic basemap (WGS 1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere)). Because your basemap is a different coordinate system, you also have a transformation. By removing the transformation in the map properties (change it to <none>), the calculations are correct. So the short workaround is: remove the transformation.

Hi there, I am observing differences in how ArcGIS Pro calculates geometry/coordinates in DMS (degrees minutes seconds). The process in ArcMap was very straight forward: While in ArcGIS Pro, you have to also double check and set the environmental settings: Now these are the results: ArcGIS Pro ArcMap The seconds are always different. Sure, it is just a couple of seconds but still, why is there a difference in the results of the calculation? The issue is that we are providing colleagues and customers with the coordinates who themselves plot them into their software and then we get quite some deviation.

I have googled my request in many different wordings but can't seem to get it right. I would like to have a predefined shape for my features, such as a default editing style for line features, in my case, and it would look f.eks. something like this: Right now, I just copy the lines from the feature class and move them to the right location. Ideally, I would like to have this template in the Create pane, I choose it (instead of choosing the line edit feature) and then simply click on the map to place it where I want to have it. Is there such a thing in ArcGIS Pro? If yes, what is it called and how can I create my predefined editing shape

Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to display the WKID in a dynamic text in a layout. Starting with this code in ArcMap: <dyn type="dataFrame" name="Layers" property="sr" srProperty="name"/><dyn type="dataFrame" name="Layers" property="sr" srProperty="projection" preStr="" newLine="true" emptyStr=""/><dyn type="dataFrame" name="Layers" property="sr" srProperty="datum" preStr="" newLine="true" emptyStr=""/><dyn type="dataFrame" name="Layers" Which results in: Now, I would also like to have the WKID for this projection, which is 23031. Any tips on how to achieve this?
