Can ArcGIS Earth digest a KML PhotoOverlay ? KML PhotoOverlays that work in Google Earth don't seem to work in ArcGIS Earth...

Two things that make me think it should work :

  1. It is an OGC standard : https://docs.ogc.org/is/12-007r2/12-007r2.html#703
  2. "KmlPhotoOverlay" is a reserved word to customize this particular layer type icon (see the Customize layer icons section of the product user manual)

However, I can't successfully add a KML PhotoOverlay to ArcGIS Earth. If it is possible, can you please send an example using the sphere shape?  (<shape>sphere</shape>)

Thank you!

Hi @GeoffroyRicher-Lalonde ,

Thanks for sharing this suggestion !

Appreciate it !  It's wonderful to see that our users are aligned with our own efforts in this area.

We has been internally researching and developing on KML Photo Overlay.   It may be included in the near future.

Currently,  KML Ground Overlay and KML Screen Overlay are completely supported. Please try and use these overlays as a workaround if applicable.

Thanks again.
