I am using a high-resolution (0.5m) elevation tif as a terrain file, but ArcGIS Earth isn't reading it until I zoom in to an eye altitude below ~10,000m. Beyond that, it is showing an elevation of 0m.

@gherrman Thank you for bringing this issue into our attention. Could you help us pinpoint the issue by answering the following questions?

  • Is the elevation tif the only Terrain data source being checked in Earth > Terrain?
  • If adding the tif file into Earth TOC (table of contents), then zoom beyond ~10,000m, is the tif layer displayed in Earth Viewport?
  • Is it possible for you to provide more details about the tif file? You can obtain more details about the tif file by looking at the data layer properties in ArcGIS Desktop (such as ArcGIS Pro). For example, the Raster Information of the data layer Properties in ArcGIS Pro.

@gherrman can you confirm if this issue is still present in the most recent version of ArcGIS Earth? If so, could you please provide @Anonymous User further information so we can diagnose the issue? Thanks in advance.

@jsphillips, appears resolved in v1.18. Elevations show up to eye elevation of ~60,000 m which is definitely an acceptable point to cut elevation readings off at.

Awesome, thanks.
