Hi,

We have a Mavic 3 Multispectral with RTK module and RTK 2 base station and have had GPS accuracy issues when processing flights into Drone2Map. Interestingly when troubleshooting with DJI and a trial version of DJI Terra they and the report says it all looks good and has the advertised cm accuracy. However when imported into ArcGIS Pro, we'll find shifts of a few feet or more for each flight. My question is if you've had the same issue and how you resolved it.

And also, is using the RTK 2 station appropriate for recording GCP points? The only way I see to do it easily is screenshot the advanced screen on the remote controller and then digitize the GPS points afterwards. Can those points then be used to import into Drone2Map and Arc GIS Pro afterwards for aligning the x/y/z?

Thanks!

Hi @SRood,

Within Drone2Map are you processing your dataset with Fix image for high accuracy option enabled? When using this option your flight gps is fixed during processing. However, if some images are determined to not be accurate enough then a full adjustment will be applied. So its possible you have a few images that are throwing off the accuracy and causing this. You could use your GCPs as check points to try and verify the accuracy after processing the adjustment step. Drone2Map can ingest the points as a txt, csv, or feature layer file. You would then need to link them to determine if the shift is coming from the adjustment process. If a shift is occurring then it would be good to review the metadata on the images to see if any RTK flags are indicating poor accuracy during collection and remove the affected images.

Regards,

Mark
