EVA code activation page gone?

ESRI seem to have quietly destroyed the EVA code activation process.   The www.esri.com/studentEdition or /EducationEdition or http://www.esri.com/software/landing_pages/arcgis/desktop-ed URLs no longer redirect to an EVA input box after you finish creating and account/logging in.  Instead they go to https://www.esri.com/en-us/store/arcgis-student-use#  where there is only an option to Buy Now.  Any queries about this only turn up https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000011765 and variants, which is the method we have used up till now.

Are EVA codes no longer supported for generating 1 year academic licenses?  Was there an announcement?  Can we please have the system re-enabled, as I have a box-load of EVA codes to work through, and this method is the least tedious for handling ArcGIS software requests from random students/staff!

Having the same problem from the student side of things... my professor gave me the EVA code and there is seemingly no place to enter it.... just the buy now option. The instructions provided by ESRI to the school appear out of date/ don't sync up with the current ESRI student webpage.

I called customer support yesterday and they couldn't figure it out either.

Looks to be resolved, the Education team posted this to the HIGHERED-L mail list:

All,

It has come to our attention that the shortcut urls to the free student software code activation and download site have been directing students to the Esri e-commerce site.

Due to the volume of inquiries we have received, I wanted to announce that this issue has been resolved.

Students studying at a university with a site license may continue to use the following Esri shortcut urls to navigate to the student software code activation and download site. Students will continue to receive the student software codes from their professor or site license coordinator.

The affected Esri links were:

www.esri.com/studentedition

www.esri.com/educationedition

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you or your GIS students.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Esri’s Education Program.

Kind Regards,
