I am trying to open / view / edit a batch job file (.rbj) and get the following error:

Error Opening Batch File(s). There was an error reading the batch file(s):

The check will run but i cannot open it for editing...
The file in question is checking for a variety of geometry issues

This seems to have started after I upgraded from 10 to 10.1.

any ideas?

Hi Scott,

Can you please try to save that batch job with a different name and then try editing the checks and adding the data using the newly created batch job in ArcMap?
I just want to make sure that the existing batch job file is not corrupted. Also would it be possible for you to share the batch job file for testing.

Thanks,
Kumar

I am experimenting the same error and again it didn't help me installing my ArcGIS 10.1 Data Reviewer SP1 and its Patch 6.

I tried also to save it in another file and give it another name but still it is giving the same error.

The file is in a proper Enterprise Environment and the risk of corruption is not  maximal.

Please help me on this.

What version was the batch job created in?  What version are you opening it up in?  What kind of checks are in there?

I've not heard of issues with creating and reopening the Reviewer Batch jobs in version 10.2.2.

Basic steps for creating a batch job:

  1. Add the data you want to validate in ArcMap.
  2. Open Reviewer Batch Job Manager
  3. Create a New Group
  4. Add a check
  5. Configure the check
  6. Save the batch job
  7. In Batch Validate, open the batch job
  8. Click on Validate All
  9. Run the batch job.

What's the exact error message you are receiving when you try to open the batch job? Which dialog are you opening it up in?  Batch Job Manager or Batch Validate?
