Switching a Dashboard source without losing everything

It seems that some things have been changed since the latest posts here. I have a complex dashboard, I simply want to duplicate it but have a web map with a feature service be the source (2 layers from the same feature service but one with a filter). Currently it's a webmap with a feature layer (2 layers from the same feature layer but one with a filter). The only difference between the layer and the service is the field name. I tried changing the #numbersgohere#layer-# and the corrected field names to the correct ones but that did not do it. I have no idea what the id before the # is either or what needs to be changed other than the field and layer-#. I cannot find proper documentation for this.

Where are you making your edits? I would think that if you're editing the dashboard's JSON, you'd be able to find/replace all references to the layer and field names.

I created a copy of the dashboard in arcgis assist. I am editing the copy in arcgis asssit's json editor.

I think it is better to edit the JSON of the web map instead of editing the JSON of the Dashboard. Have you tried that? Although the changed field name might mess things up for you.

I have not, and yes it would messed things up due to the field name change. Some are completely different while others just have a "_" as a space which is why I was trying the other way.
