Switch column based on feature selection in the map

I have a Dashboard that includes a map with two point Feature Layers:

  • Sensors (e.g. temperature/humidity etc. etc.)
  • Meters (e.g. gas/electricity meters)

In my dashboard I have a number of elements grouped in to a column that display data for the selected Sensor and a second group of elements (also grouped in to a separate column) that display data for the selected Meter.  The two columns are docked on top of each other to create a tabbed view.

Selecting a feature (Sensor or Meter) in the map populates the elements in the relevant tab/column, which all works fine, but what I want to do is have the displayed tab/column automatically switch so that it matches the latest item that was selected in the map e.g. if the user selects a Meter feature in the map, I want the Meter tab/column to be made visible and if the user selects a Sensor feature in the map I want the Sensor tab/column to become visible.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Screen grab below shows what I've got at the moment.  What I want to happen is if I select one of the Meter features (the red dots in the map) I want the Meter tab (bottom right) to display but at the moment the Sensor tab remains visible:
