here are the specifics:
Normally, an installer is either an EXE or MSI file, which can be scripted and silently installed directly on the users’ computers without the end user needing to interact with the installer. In this case, ArcGIS seems to expect the users to download and manually execute the installer (in this case, a .APPLICATION file), walking through the steps manually to get the dashboard setup. While the end users can go ahead and do this if they have access to that installer on their portal, as it doesn’t require admin rights, if we try to send out the installation over the network automatically the installation doesn’t seem to work.
If the vendor can provide instructions on how to send out the installation silently to the end users over the network, that is what we need to find out.
