Operations Dashboard Fails to Launch

When logged into Portal trying to launch the Operations Dashboard from the Hamburger Menu the App just spins.

I don't capture any activity from Dev tools nor any logs in the portal.

When trying to launch it from Search Bar/ Operations Dashboard/ View Application I get the following:

ype: Status Report

Message: /arcgis/home/apps/opsdashboard/index.html

Description: http.404:/arcgis/home/apps/opsdashboard/index.html

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hey Richard Houck‌,

Can you put your portal url in here:

https://your_portal_url_here/arcgis/home/apps/opsdashboard/index.html

And try and navigate to it?

Hello Ben,

Just a note,  we are running a WebAdaptor which I believe could be part of the problem.

My portal home page is currently

https://hostname/portal/home/ 

Trying to access: fails as well

https://hostname:7443/arcgis/apps/opsdashboard/index.html

Hi Richard,

  • What release of Portal for ArcGIS/ArcGIS Enterprise are you using?
  • Is this a new installation of Portal, or was it recently upgraded from an earlier release?
  • Is this the first time you're trying to use Operations Dashboard? or was it working previously and now has stopped working?
  • If the latter, did something change in your Portal instance recently?

The ArcGIS Web Adaptor is part of a 'standard' ArcGIS Enteprise install and should not cause any issues with running Operations Dashboard.

Hello Derek,

We are running 10.7.1. This is a clean install setup just a few months ago.

My colleague had setup a couple dashboards and went back to access them several weeks later and noticed that they were no longer accessible.

To my knowledge nothing other than OS patch level has changed as I am the only one with Admin access to the machine.

We are running Windows Server 2016 X64.

I haven't heard of this behavior before. Are you able to access the other built-in apps, like the configurable app templates and Web AppBuilder in Portal? Were any other configuration changes made to your Portal?

I see the issue. When pulling up the Operations Dashboard from the Search Bar,

the Url is pointing or our old environment not the current host.

When Launching the app from the hamburger or manually typing in:

https://hostname/portal/apps/opsdashboard/index.html

The call I see in devtools is referencing our old hostname as well.

Any suggestions on how to update that?

Something's not right with your Portal instance. Did you recently rename your server name when you applied the OS patch? Are you able to access the other built-in apps, like the configurable app templates and Web AppBuilder in Portal?

You may have to call esri Tech Support so they can help investigate your Portal instance further.

Hello Derek,

I was able to resolve the issue. I had added a WebContextURL which was causing the issue.

Removing it all together fixed the problem.
