Date Selector Combination Type

Hello,

With the new June 2026 update, the Date Selector is no longer supporting combination of defined and date selectors. I have lots of users who use the dashboards to get quick numbers for monthly/quarterly/yearly reports, but also like to see events or information from a defined date range. It feels so clunky to separate these out instead of keeping the option to have the combination selector.

WHY??? This will make several of my dashboards less functional. Why would the Dashboards team take perfectly good functionality away?

Likewise, the "Add none option" is now gone from category selectors. You can use the new Require Selection switch instead, but there's no way to make no selection the default, so now everything opens with the first option selected by default (definitely not my desired behavior).

Add to that the fact that end users still can't sort table columns (a quick community search shows at least four ideas submitted for this basic functionality starting in 2022 with over 200 combined kudos).

I am beyond frustrated. Are they just trying to drive us all to Experience Builder? I have developed several EB apps as well and I understand its value and flexibility, but for many uses cases, Dashboards is just a faster, simpler option to stand up a functional web app. For a while it has seemed like Dashboards was being neglected, but now it seems like they're actively dismantling a perfectly good product.

Thanks for the feedback, @HollyTorpey_LSA  - I appreciate your frustration with the changes and updates, but please rest assured that Esri is NOT dismantling ArcGIS Dashboards! The team is working hard to address incoming BUGS and will provide clarification on the modernization of Selectors and other capabilities in ArcGIS Dashboards.

Hi Martin, thanks for the response. You've always been very receptive to feedback at the Dev Summit, so I feel a little bad for venting here. My frustration stems from the fact that I really rely on Dashboards and I want to see it continue to improve. I'm glad to hear that it's not on the chopping block.
