Browser Operations Dashboards Broken?

Has anyone else had ALL of the browser versions of their Operations Dashboards stop working over the last week?

All I am getting is a basemap - no layer content, no widget content....

OD version 10.2.3.536

The dashboards were created under a previous version, I believe.

On a hunch, I had my analyst create a quick and dirty new Web Map in ArcGIS Online and a quick OD....  It works.

This is completely frustrating.  There are so many moving parts and no way to recover after a single update that I have no control over!  How can I use this for a production application if I have no ability to test before new versions of things are pushed out?  It has been the norm to have to completely re-create all Web Maps in ArcGIS Online then in Operations Dashboard....

Hi Adam,

Could you share one of your problematic op views and its associated webmap+services with me  so I can take a look?

One possible reason that causes such problem is that you are connecting to your organization through https connection while the active content in the view was connected through http connection. In this case the unsecured http content might be blocked by some browsers. Could you check if this is what you are encountering?

Thanks,

Tif

Sorry Tif,

All of the content is within our intranet, so even if I did share it, you would not be able to access any services.

I am aware of the https / http connection issue and have made sure that is not the issue. If I weren't so busy getting ready for the UC, I could do a screen share!

Hi Adam,

You mentioned that you have you "create a quick and dirty new Web Map in ArcGIS Online and a quick OD....  It works.". Does that webmap contain the same data as the one you created previously that doesn't work anymore in web Dashboard?

If we can rule out mixed active content as the cause of the problem, can you turn on Fiddler and the browser's debugger when you load a problematic op view and see if any error occurs while the view loads?

I will also be in the UC next week Tue-Thu. We can schedule some time to meet and work on the issue together if that works for you?

The webmap contains the same data (mostly Feature Services) that are in the previous one.

I will attempt to use Fiddler and debugger after I am finished touching up my UC presentation this afternoon.

I am assuming that you are port of the Operations Dashboard team?  Carol Ghostine has helped me with previous issues.  I would enjoy meeting her if she will be there.  But yes, we can schedule a time to meet.  I will have my laptop and the ability to VPN back into our system.  Thank you for offering your time!

Thank you,--Adam

Hi Adam,

So it looks like the problem comes only from the views that are created previously, and not the content in them. One more thing you could try besides checking the web traffic is clearing your browser cache, restarting your browser and loading the views again in the browser.

And for your question.. Yes I am part of the Dashboard team and I work very closely with Carol. Will it be okay for us to meet Thursday after 11:30? Carol and I are both having presentations that morning and we would like to finish our sessions first so we can then be 100% focusing on your Dashboard problem.

If that works for you I will ask Carol to send an email to us so we can take this conversation offline. I was trying to find an easy way to send you a private message but haven't been able to

Thanks,

Tif
