Override Selection to Filter Widgets from both the Map and List

It seems that currently you can only filter widgets based on either selecting in the map, or selecting in a list. If you configure both the map selection and list selection to filter the widgets, it does not work. I would like the ability for example, to be able to click on a feature in the list, and then click a different feature using the map and have the widgets filter. I believe right now you would have to click the list to unselect, before then selecting in the map. What I think would be better is if there was some sort of 'allow override' where if something is selected in the list, my click on the map would override it.

I like this idea, and it's something that could improve user experience with many dashboards.

You may be able to reach an independent outcome that loosely emulates what you've described by completing the following:

  1. Duplicate the filtered layer as a visually transparent selection target and order it at the bottom of your contents.
  2. Remove pop-ups from old layer and add pop-ups to this new duplicated layer that are the same features but transparent and selectable by map.)
  3. Keep list element filtering configured the same way on the original layer, while leaving the duplicate layer unconfigured from 'list' selection.
  4. In the Map Element settings, add a layer action for selection filtering to the duplicate layer. This would activate the project list filter.

Below is how that could be performed as a workaround:

(Merely a demo. This is not implemented on this Dashboard)
