Label 'January' when parsing serial chart by month

Alright, I don't know why I'm discovering so many things that don't work right today but here is another one. When creating a serial chart that parses dates by month, January labels are entirely missing whether year is turned on or not. When year is turned on, the year is where you'd expect the month to be; when it's turned off, it's just blank.

I was able to find a fairly unintuitive workaround - putting MMMM in the year field displays a label for January, but now it's bold, and I don't necessarily want it to be bold. Plus, if it ever fills up enough to the point where it merges the categories into years, the labels will still be labeling months...so this is not a solution.
Case and point.
