Idea for Improving Dashboard Filtering with Multiple Sub-Type Fields

While building a dashboard where users can filter data based on multiple attributes, I ran into a challenge that might resonate with others. In my ArcGIS Pro project, I have a “Sub-Type” category spread across eight fields (e.g., Sub-Type 1, Sub-Type 2, etc.), allowing flexibility in how attributes are assigned to features. However, in the dashboard environment, the Category Selector only filters based on a single field.

This creates a limitation—especially when sub-type values like "Servicing" might appear in different Sub-Type fields depending on the feature. Since the selector can’t look across all Sub-Type fields simultaneously, users can't easily search for a specific sub-type unless they know exactly which field it lives in.

To improve the user experience, one potential solution is to restructure the data or create a calculated field that consolidates all sub-type values into one searchable field.

This idea could enhance flexibility in dashboards by making filters more intuitive and functional, especially when working with domain values spread across multiple fields.
