Choice to set collapsible sidebar to pinned by default

For the dashboard I'm working on, I like having the sidebar collapsible for mobile devices. However, a lot of people have been confused about how to use the sidebar because it only shows up for a second when the dashboard is launched. I would like to have the dashboard collapsible but pinned by default so they can unpin it on mobile if it's in their way.

We have this issue as well. Seems like a simple fix to add that functionality. Upvote

Completely agree!  The sidebar should stay open until someone chooses to close it.

PS - coincidentally, I am also making a bus dashboard!

I would like the user to see the filters but be able to hide them. Right now it's one or the other.

Or at least give us the ability to extend the amount of time the sidebar stays open. Similar to how when change change how many times a selected items flashes.

Adding onto here in hopes this gets implemented. My dashboard is embedded, so most people haven't even necessarily started looking at the dashboard by the time the sidebar collapses.

Please implement this. This seems like a ridiculously easy feature to implement!

Having a side bar only show up for 1 second is really not user friendly, and makes published apps look unprofessional.

You have had 3 years to do this really simple fix!

Same as others...came looking for a solution to the issue for the desktop version. 

Currently there are only two options: either collapsible and hides after 2 seconds or permanently open and squishes the other dashboard features.

It would be great to have another option such as keeping it collapsible but forcing the user to hit the arrow to hide it. Being able to set a time for it to stay open is another possibility, as long as the user can still hit the arrow to hide it.
