With the June 2023 update, there has also come the ability to make a rectangle selection in the map widget. This is convenient but a polygon would complete it. The select by polygon tool gives users total control over a selection that the select by rectangle and lasso do not. See also @MattPohl  question 09-20-2023

Yes, yes, and yes! I have been waiting and hoping this will come. Every client that I make an application for requests the ability to search using the polygon tool. Why would it not be an option while searching by using a line is???
