Limit Widget Results to Current Map Extent
This document will walk through the steps on how to limit an Operation Dashboard's widget to the current map extent.
Below is an example of an operations dashboard for hydrants throughout Washington DC.
I want to add a Summary widget, but only report the summary of hydrants for the given map extent. First thing I want to do is create a filter for the map widget. Click the settings icon for the map widget and choose Configure:
On the right, next to Filters, click 'Add'. Specify a Name for the Query Definition, check the option 'Limit the results to the current map extent', and create a query where OBJECTID Greater than 0:
After clicking OK, you will have this filter listed:
You can now create a widget and use this Filter. In the below example, I am configuring the Summary widget to use this filter:
Now the Summary widget will update as the user zooms/pans around the map. Ex:
